- เที่ยว (thîaaw) = Travel, sightseeing, or going out for fun. It does not have to be a long trip. / 旅行・観光・遊びに出かけることを表します。長い旅でなくても使えます。

Khun Ken maa thîiaw Thai khráng-râehk châi mǎi khá
This is your first trip to Thailand, right, Mr.Ken? / ケンさんはタイ旅行が初めてですよね。
"ท่องเที่ยว (thâwng-thîaaw)" VS "เที่ยว (thîaaw)" In textbooks and on signs you will see "ท่องเที่ยว (thâwng-thîaaw)" for “travel”, but Thai people rarely use it in conversation. It sounds formal, like the tourism industry. In daily talk they simply say "เที่ยว (thîaaw)" or "ไปเที่ยว (pai thîaaw)". 教科書や看板では「ท่องเที่ยว (thâwng-thîaaw)」が「旅行」として出てきますが、会話ではほとんど使いません。観光業のような改まった響きがあります。日常会話では「เที่ยว (thîaaw)」または「ไปเที่ยว (pai thîaaw)」と言います。 |

น่าไป (nâa pai) "น่า (nâa)" + verb means “worth ...ing” or “makes me want to...”. น่าไป (nâa pai) = sounds like a place worth going to, น่ากิน (nâa gin) = looks tasty, น่าลอง (nâa lawng) = worth a try. It is a quick way to react to a plan. 「น่า (nâa)」＋動詞で「〜したくなる」「〜する価値がある」という意味です。น่าไป（行ってみたくなる）、น่ากิน（おいしそう）、น่าลอง（試してみたい）。相手の計画にすぐ反応できる便利な言い方です。 |

💡 Additional information / 追加情報
กรุงเทพฯ (Grung-thêhp)
- = Bangkok, “city of angels”
"กรุง (Grung) = city", "เทพ (thêhp) = angel, deity". - The mark "ฯ" means the rest of the name is left out. The full official name is one of the longest place names in the world, and Thai children often learn it through a famous song.
- = バンコク（天使の都）
- 「กรุง (Grung) = 都」＋「เทพ (thêhp) = 天使・神」。
- 「ฯ」は名前の残りを省略する記号です。正式名称は世界でも最も長い地名のひとつで、タイの子どもたちは有名な歌で覚えることがよくあります。
ไปวัด (pai wát) = visiting a temple / お寺に行く
- Dress modestly (cover your shoulders and knees) and take off your shoes before entering a building.
- 肩と膝を隠す服装で行き、建物に入る前に靴を脱ぎます。
